Literacy Network Annual Gala

It was on Sat November 17, 2007 and it was WONDERFUL

Literacy Network and Chester Theatre Company heard from The Bully Pulpit at a great theatre benefit event on July 7

Patrons of the Literacy Network of South Berkshire and Chester Theatre Company joint benefit performance of The Bully Pulpit were treated to a rousing rendition of Teddy Roosevelt (portrayed by playwright Michael O. Smith) on July 7. The audience clearly loved Mr. Smith’s one-man play, and was impressed with the passion and vivacity he exhibited while playing the role of the nation’s 26th President at 60 years old as he reflected, humorously, on his legacy.

Attendees also enjoyed a champagne reception with Michael O. Smith at the Historic Chester Railroad Station Museum after the performance. Chocolate Springs Café provided the chocolate and desserts, which were marvelously delicious.

THANK YOU to everyone who attended, and especially to Rhoda Herrick and Jeannene Booher, who each graciously hosted a pre-performance dinner. Our sincere thanks, too, to the board members and staff of both organizations, who worked so hard to pull off a flawless event – Bravo!
